Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Truist is a top 10 U.S. "We expect all systems including mobile app, online banking, BB&T ATMs, and the Truist Contact Center to be back up and running by Sunday, Oct. In an online FAQ, BB&T said customers will not be able to make mobile deposits, transfer funds, access online bill pay services or set up a new Zelle payment through the website or mobile app during the planned outage. The Charlotte, North Carolina-based bank, now known as Truist after its merger with SunTrust, is shutting down its online banking system and branch computers over part of Columbus Day weekend to update its computer systems. I don't think they really care, but I want them to see this review just so they know they lost business. If you bank with BB&T and need to set up an online transaction, withdraw cash, pay a bill or hit up a local branch, plan to do it Friday. Truist just lost out on additional business, and I would not recommend them to anyone. We also have an account at another bank, and I have been considering making the change to Truist. They don't return phone calls and they are just not helpful. have never found this bank to be pleasant (except that one transaction with Desiree). If she was with a client, why did she answer the phone in the first place? Or ask me up front if I minded holding. I decided to give it a try and when I started to give her my information, she promptly advised me that she would have to put me on hold because there was a client standing in front of her. When I called today about this situation and asked for Desiree, the lady who answered the phone was sure she could help me. We stood there and waited about five minutes for someone to appear. As far as the branch is concerned, when I walked in to deposit this check, there was one lady in line in front of me and NO ONE up front. I understand putting a hold on the check, but it is unreasonable for them to keep us from using our own money when we need it. If the check/credit union has been deemed "safe" enough to release over 93% of the funds, how is withholding the remaining 7% going to protect anyone? It's not. And that, as told to me by a bank representative, is for OUR protection against fraud! Whatever. And the remaining 7%? We have to wait another WEEK for that to be released. ![]() Two days later, they released around 89%. They gave us less than 4% on the day of deposit. I knew there would be the standard hold on the money due to the amount, but here's what doesn't make sense. We just deposited a large sum of money (certified cashiers check) from a credit union. This review is more about Truist than this particular branch, although with the exception of Desiree, there's not much good to say about the branch either. Rent payment probably going to bounce because of this! Sitting at the bank branch now dealing with this! FML!! Really bad company and hope it’s next to go under!!! I’ve had no access to my money this entire weekend. She told me the bank closed my account due to ID verification. I demanded a representative in the United States and was transferred to a lady named Donna, she was great and so far the best person I’ve talked too at Truist. A day later went to the grocery store, debit card declined, I called the toll free number, routed to a call center in the Phillapines, very hard to understand and interact with the customer service agent. Then there was a security block on my account, they said I needed to provide ID verification, I said fine and drove to the branch and the block was removed. Got the card a few days later, everything was good, so I thought. An IMMEDIATE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT must be filed against this POS bank!!!! Worst decision that I have EVER made in my life was to open an account here!! All for a $400 bonus!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! Don’t do it to yourself!! I opened an account online around July 16, 2023, went to a local bank branch in Colleyville Texas to make a cash deposit and to get the ball rolling in getting the debit card sent out. ![]()
